“French cut” refers to the way the diamonds are set into the metal of the ring. In order to achieve maximum brilliance, our jeweller has hand cut small 'v' shapes down the side of the ring. This creates a sculptural faceted form on the side of the ring's band.
Another notable design element of this handmade ring is the azure cut outs behind each diamond. Azure is the English derivative of the French term a jour or adjoure. An azure is a cutout behind each diamond which allows additional light to enter the stone from the back, which enhances the brilliance and sparkle of the diamonds.
